There’s something undeniably magical about macarons. The delicate shells, the soft chew, the artistry in every swirl of filling all come together to create something truly special. This past week, I had the pleasure of hosting an intimate macaron workshop, and it was everything I hoped it would be. Creative, a little messy, and incredibly rewarding.

For this workshop, I wanted to simplify the experience so everyone could truly focus on mastering the most technical and often intimidating part of the process, the shells. Macarons can be finicky, and confidence comes from hands-on practice. Instead of overwhelming everyone with too many steps, I prepared a couple of fillings in advance.

The ladies were able to choose from two signature buttercreams. A rich, silky chocolate ganache buttercream (Cocoa Luxe), and a fresh rosemary strawberry buttercream finished with just a hint of thyme. Each filling was inspired by my Flame+Sugar candle scents, so participants could taste the same aromas they love in their favorite candles.
This allowed everyone to pour their energy into perfecting their piping, folding, and oven timing. These are the skills that truly make or break a macaron.
And they did beautifully.
There is always a moment in these workshops when the trays go into the oven and the room goes quiet. Everyone is waiting, hoping for those perfect little feet to form. When they do, the excitement is instant. It never gets old.

What I loved most was not just the final result, but the experience we created together. Slowing down, working with our hands, learning something new, and sharing in the small wins along the way. It felt less like a class and more like a creative gathering.
This is just the beginning.
I will be organizing more macaron workshops, each one designed to build confidence, refine technique, and create something beautiful. I am already dreaming up new flavor pairings, seasonal themes, and ways to elevate the experience even further.
If you have ever wanted to learn how to make macarons, or simply want a creative escape for a few hours, I would love to have you join me at the next one.
